NEW RECEPTION PARENT & CARER INFORMATION

A warm welcome to Kyson Primary School. We are delighted that your child has been offered a full-time place in our Reception class starting in September and we are looking forward to a long, happy and productive partnership between children, parents and staff.

This area of the website is specifically for our new Reception parents/carers and their children and contains information about transition to starting, activities, uniform purchase, lunch ordering and more!

Activities and Advice around Starting School

Uniform

A full list and photos of the Kyson uniform can be found here.

A number of uniform items can be purchased from the school office using ParentMail. You will find items to purchase under "Payments" and the trolley/shop icon.

Please note that all ordered items, subject to stock availability, will be ready to collect from the school office during the school day.

Children come to school in September in their winter uniform.

School Lunches and ParentMail

All children in Reception are entitled to a free school lunch under the Government's Universal Infant Free School Meals policy. Parents order these lunches using ParentMail.

Pupil Premium

The school is able to claim Pupil Premium for children whose parents are in receipt of one or more of a number of benefits, click here for the full list. Pupil Premium funding helps ensure that the school receives all the Government funding to which it is entitled.

If your child is registered for Pupil premium, they will be entitled to free school lunches , music lessons and assistance with payment for school trips, until they finish primary school regardless of any chance in your circumstances.

Requesting a Medical Diet

If your child requires a medical diet due to a food allergy, food intolerance or a medical condition that requires an adapted menu (e.g. carbohydrate count for Type 1 Diabetes), please follow this link to request a medical diet:

Milk

All children under the age of 5 receive free school milk as part of the Government Nursery Milk Scheme. Further information can be found here.

Staying in Touch

We use ParentMail to send out newsletters and other communications. It is therefore important that you register your account with ParentMail.
