Character Curriculum
We are delighted to share that our Kyson Character Curriculum was officially launched in September 2025. This new and exciting aspect of school life has been carefully developed over the past year, including a successful trial during the Spring Term of the last academic year.
Supporting Your Child
To help families understand our approach—and to support your child as they begin their Character Curriculum journey this year—we have provided a range of helpful documents:
- Character Curriculum – Parent Information Booklet
- Example Character Curriculum Passport
- ‘At Home’ Tasks for Year 1
- ‘At Home’ Tasks for Year 2
- ‘At Home’ Tasks for Year 3
- ‘At Home’ Tasks for Year 4
- ‘At Home’ Tasks for Year 5
- ‘At Home’ Tasks for Year 6
- ‘In School Experiences’ for Year 1
- ‘In School Experiences’ for Year 2
- ‘In School Experiences’ for Year 3
- ‘In School Experiences’ for Year 4
- ‘In School Experiences’ for Year 5
- ‘In School Experiences’ for Year 6
How the Character Curriculum Works
Every Friday afternoon (1:30–2:30pm), children will take part in their weekly Character Curriculum Focus Session.
Each child has been given their own Character Curriculum Passport, which is kept safely in their classroom and will be available for parents and carers to view during Parents’ Evenings.
At-Home Tasks
Each child will bring home their ‘At Home’ Task sheet. Please display this somewhere visible—such as on the fridge—so your child can tick off each task as they complete it.
We love celebrating the children’s achievements! Families are encouraged to email photos of completed tasks to charactercurriculum@kyson.education and/or send printed photos for children to stick into their Character Curriculum Passports.
Looking Ahead
We are very excited to begin this journey and cannot wait to see the children grow, flourish, and spread their wings throughout the year.
