Family Support Worker

My name is Rebecca Brennan and I am the Family Support Worker here at Kyson. I joined in September 2022, bringing with me experience from various Primary Schools where I held similar roles. I am passionate about my work supporting Kyson families and hope to make a difference to our school community.

At Kyson, we operate as one big family. Recognising that each child and family is unique, we understand that support may be needed at different points during their time with us. My role is to provide that initial layer of early help, ensuring our children and families can overcome any challenges they may face.

As a parent myself, I empathise with the demands of parenting and strive to ensure that all our children and their families receive prompt access to information and the best support available, enabling every child to reach their full potential.

My role involves working closely alongside Mrs Ridall our SENCO. Together we focus on building strong relationships with families, offering advice, support, monthly newsletters, and workshops.

Working in partnership with a diverse range of agencies, professionals, and the broader community, I deliver support and interventions tailored to each family's needs. I play a vital role in strengthening the connection between home and school, often working alongside teachers to achieve successful outcomes for our children and families.

In addition to my primary responsibilities, I am a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), the Alternate Safeguarding Lead (ASL) and the Designated Mental Health Lead (DMHL) for the school. I oversee the pastoral support program at Kyson, facilitating emotional and social support programs for children who may require additional support.

You can often find me on the playground in the mornings, but if you or your child need support, please don't hesitate to contact me through the school office. I am in school Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and I work remotely on Tuesdays. I always welcome a cup of tea and a chat, so feel free to drop by if you need any help and support.
