School Council

At Kyson Primary School we are proud to have a reflective and forward-thinking School Council who help the school to thrive. Each class from Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 are represented by two councillors each year who have been elected by their class mates.

Our School Council is in place to enable all our children to have a voice and are involved in decisions about the school that affect them. Children at Kyson Primary School know that this is their school and their thoughts and ideas matter. Through the School Council, all pupils have the opportunity to raise issues, share ideas and take part in discussions that involve all of their classmates in reaching a democratic solution.

Our School Council meet half termly and subsequently share the minutes with their class.

The School Council meetings are also attended by a range of staff members and a Governor;  Mr Ward (Deputy Head), Ms Richmond (Key Stage 1 Lead), Mrs Fry (PSHE/RE Lead), Mr Rose (Caretaker), Mrs Dolan (School Administrator) and members of the Governing Body depending upon the Council's focus and when topics are relevant to their area of expertise.
