Starting School for the First Time
Any children who are starting school for the very first time (children who will be 5 on their next birthday and are not yet in school) will be allocated a place by the Local Authority taking into account parental choice as much as possible. Please refer to the Local Authority guidance here.
"In Year" Moves
Academies have to manage their own in-year admissions. Any parent and carer wishing to make an application for a place at our academy or any academy within the Trust can telephone the school office and we will supply the relevant forms or alternatively you access the form here. All in-year applications must be made directly to the school and parents and carers will be notified of the outcome directly from the school.
Appeals
Appeals are made directly to Suffolk County Council. Information about the appeal process can be found here.
Pupil Admission Numbers
Our current PAN (pupil admission number) is 60 children per year group.
Visits to the School
We kindly ask that alternative arrangements be made for children and younger siblings so you can gain the most from your visit. Please note that we are only able to offer one visit per family.
Kyson Registration Form
Once you have received notification that your child has been allocated a space, you will need to complete Kyson registration form. This form can be be completed online.Admission to our Nursery
Your child can start Nursery from the term following their 3rd birthday, providing there is a space. Once you have completed the application form, pleasen take your child's birth certificate or passport to he school office.This information will be discussed by the Nursery Panel who will then allocate spaces termly, based on the Kyson Nursery Admissions Terms and Conditions (including Charging and Remissions) Policy.
Admission to the school Nursery does not guarantee a full-time school place at Kyson. A separate application for a full-time place in the school must be made.
Your child can stay in the school Nursery until the September following their 4th birthday.Further information about applying for the Nursery can be found here.
Leaving Kyson
If you are moving your child to another school to, you will need to complete and return a Leaving form. This form is available from the school office (or by clicking here) and should be completed and returned as soon as possible. Once the form is received by the office they will then inform Suffolk County Council.
